In An Instant

The Joshuas & Me. Photo by Mike Sweeney/©1996

Back in 1996, I bought a Spectra Pro camera and it changed the way I thought about Polaroid photography. It shaped my instant photography “ethic.” To this day, the pictures I make with Polaroid and Instax cameras—be it a SX-70 Alpha 1 or SQ6—continue to be more about composition, rather than technical prowess.
