Mary and Tony recently spent a week in Colorado, splitting time between Mark’s stomping grounds in Boulder and Michael’s turf in Pueblo. Some of the sights they took in were Estes Park, the Pearl Street Mall, the IAFF memorial in Colorado Springs, and the Riverwalk.
They got a pretty good sampling of springtime weather in Colorado during their visit, too. After basking in balmy, seasonal weather in Boulder, during their first day in Pueblo, temperatures broke 90 degrees. Two days later while checking out the cliff dwellings in Manitou Springs, snow began to fall.
The Alcocers also tackled Boulder’s Chatauqua Park and embarked on what turned out to be an epic three-hour hike in search of the Royal Arch flatiron. Drawing from that lesson, Mary and Tony wisely made a less adventurous 60-yard hike from the Royal Gorge parking lot to a pretty amazing overlook of one of southern Colorado’s more impressive sights.

A traveling vacation is never as relaxing as one intends it to be, but I think Mary and Tony’s free-form visit to see “the boys”–apologies to Monica and Enedina–hit pretty close to the mark.

I had a great time in Colorado..my first time there. I remember the Gorge being much deeper then shown in your photo. Also, thanks for adding some color back to my face! Tony
