Our nearly year-old aussie, Rafa, made the cover of the  United State Australian Shepherd Association February newsletter. Rafa’s breeder, Lindy Patrick, shared the news with us this past weekend.

It was unexpected news. When I clicked the link Lindy had passed along and have the USASA newsletter open up with Rafa’s beaming face on the cover I was happily surprised and shared it with Monica right away.

Rafa comes from Lindy’s kennel in Parker: Lyric Austrailan Shepherds. He was one of five puppies from Lindy’s cross of Megan and Trout. Megan went Best of Breed at the 2008 USASA National Specialty. Trout is co-owned by Lindy and Linda Ott of Everready Australian Shepherds in Marshfield, Wisc.

The photo was taken at Lake Pueblo during our Christmas Day hike as he came bounding along the snowy Arkansas Point trail.

He is a handsome boy, but should Rafa get wind of this latest news, there’s little doubt there will be no living with him!
