Monica’s 11:26 a.m. text was like a silent call to General Quarters:

Three minutes later I was laying on the ground in our backyard wielding a camera and macro lens, snapping photos of praying mantis scrambling through our shrubbery.

It’s not the best photo of a mantis I’ve made, but it’ll suffice.
