The Big Dog Brag came to Pueblo for the first time to host a 5-kilometer mud course featuring 23 obstacles over the weekend. John Lopez, above, was one of the nearly 1,000 runners that ran the course in the prairie just east of the Colorado State University, Pueblo campus.

Lopez was part of team PowerHouse, a group of “runners” decked out in swimming attire. I shot this photo of his splash landing from the top of the Super Dog Slide obstacle.

And by the way, the water wings didn’t seem to help much.
